I teach Spanish II, III, IV and V at Sturgis High School. I have been teaching at SHS since 2014.  Before teaching here, I taught at Lakeland High School in Indiana. In my classes, all students are required to speak Spanish when at all possible to increase their fluency.  This also makes class so much more fun!  In class, we play games, do work, talk, move around, and just have fun with the Spanish language.
In addition to being a full-time teacher, I am also a mom of four little ones. My children are currently 7, 6, 4 and 2 years old. In our time off, we love to travel and just spend time as a family.

I am a 2002 graduate from Western Michigan University with a BA in Spanish and English secondary education.  I also completed a MA of Spanish Literature at WMU in June of 2014.

In addition to teaching and being a mother, I also love to travel.  I have been to many different countries, including Mexico, Costa Rica, Canada, Spain, Italy, France, Ireland and Israel. I have taken students abroad on two different occasions, and would love to offer this opportunity again in the near future.  Although I have visited many different countries, I spent the most time in southern Mexico, where I worked as a volunteer at a refuge for street children. I visited there every six months for over nine years, and was able to form relationships and friendships that I will cherish for a lifetime.
