Foreign Exchange Program


The Student Foreign Exchange Program began in the 1950s as a result of President Dwight D. Eisenhower's People to People initiative.  Each year over 13,000 students, world-wide, participate in international educational and travel activities.

Exchange program goals are to: 

  • Enhance tolerance and understanding among all people

  • Support youth development and the need of youth

 Sturgis has had over 180 students from 5 continents and 40 countries!

Marius Kaffka - Male
He is from Germany.  Enjoys playing tennis, working out, go to the movies, hiking canoeing and cycling with his family.  Plans to study Computer Science and engineering to find work as an IT Specialist. 
Anna-Lucia Masthoff - Female
She is from Germany. Enjoys listening to music, art and singing.  Plans to study Industrial Economics and would like to work internationally. 
Igor Michel - Male 
He is from Brazil.  Enjoys working out, playing guitar, drawing and being with his friends.  He plans to be a Civil Engineer in the future.
