Planning For College
  • For the Freshmen:
    • Make a 4 or 5 year plan with your counselor and your parents.
    • Think about what Advanced Placement courses you may want to take.
    • Join clubs and different activities to get involved in your school.
    • Hold on to any certificates and awards you earn in high school.
  • For the Sophomore:
    • Take the PSAT in the fall to practice your test taking skills. PSAT Practice Questions
    • Start researching what colleges you may be interested in, and the financial information for each. See the Colleges, Universities & Tech Schools tab for more information.
    • Decide what AP tests you are interested in taking and sign up with your counselor.
  • For the Junior:
    • Keep your grades up, colleges will be looking at these grades when accepting students to the school.
    • Take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Learn more about the SAT
    • If enrolled in any AP courses decide what tests you'd like to take and sign up.
    • Begin applying to the colleges and universities of your choice. Tips for College Applications
    • Begin college visits to your prospective colleges.
    • Start working on resume, see Mrs. Moses for any questions.
  • For the Senior:
    • Continue taking challenging classes.
    • Retake your SAT if necessary.
    • Send out your applications before Thanksgiving if possible!
    • Apply for scholarships, see announcement board or guidance office for more information.
    • Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form. 
    • Continue refining your resume.
    • Keep on track, don't get Senioritis!!
